On Monday, he outlined a series of proposals to strengthen and support families, including a universal health visitor service and the introduction of flexible parental leave.

Later in the week he stressed the importance of education as an "engine of social mobility", and attacked Labour for the fact that 55% of secondary schools in the poorest areas of England are officially 'failing'.

Philip, the Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury, attacked the uncertainty created by Labour's dithering, stressing that they had undermined the housing market at a historically low point.

And he called for Labour to adopt our plans to lift the Stamp Duty threshold for first-time buyers to £250,000.
