Anne-Marie Trevelyan, Parliamentary Candidate for Berwick, recently hosted a disability Forum in Netherwitton with Mark Harper MP, Shadow Minister for Disabilities as the keynote speaker. Guests ranging from learning difficulty specialists to elderly care professionals came to hear from Mr Harper what the Conservatives intend to do if they win the next General Election.
Mr Harper set out the Conservative vision, from the need to split the statement process from the Local Council who pays for it, to the empowerment of disabled adults who want to be able to work independently. He listened to the guests’ personal stories and professional views, and said afterwards that he had found the meeting informative and useful to take back to the Shadow Cabinet as they put together the Disability Manifesto.
