Mark Harper MP ‘live’ in Kenton
Shadow Disabled Minister Mark Harper MP was also in the region this week. On Wednesday morning Mark visited Aquila Way. Earlier this year, Kenton, in Newcastle, was featured in the ‘Uniting Britain’s Divided Cities’ report (click on the link below) which highlighted communities “where pockets of extreme deprivation sit right next to some of our most affluent districts”. On Wednesday afternoon Mark travelled to Kenton with his camera where he interviewed local people as part of a short film about life there.
Before meeting with local disability groups, Mark went to Morpeth to see for himself the devastation caused by last weekend’s floods. He met residents, spoke to shopkeepers and was horrified by the damage caused to the Library. |
